Project Background

This project was focused on engineering the exterior trims including front and rear bumper assemblies and other exterior parts from feasibility to tooling release for SUV and sedan programs.

Our Scope
  • Concept Design: Style Feasibility, Material Definition, Initial 3D Concept, Fixation and Attachment Definition
  • Virtual Proto-Release: 3D Concept, 2D Creation for Tooling Feasibility, Cost Estimate. CAD Development Employing Best Modeling Methodologies for Quick Adaptability and Turnaround Time
  • Proto Release: Style Change (B-Series) Update, Design Improvement for Attachment and Fixation Scheme, Assembly Sequence, RPS Definition, Design with Manufacturing Consideration
  • Tooling Release: Style (A-Series), Final 3D CAD, Manufacturing Drawings with GD&T. Hands-On Support During Tool Implementation
What we did

We deployed a high quality team of engineers with rich experience in design and development of automotive trims, good surfacing skills and substantial manufacturing knowledge. We were able to rapidly ramp up our team to meet our customer’s aggressive delivery schedule. Since this was a new OEM for our customer, our experience with the OEM’s standards and tacit requirements were very instrumental in our customer winning a large volume of future business from the OEM.
