The customer envisioned creating a data analytics tool to consolidate project management data from various source systems and create a central analytics dashboard to help make decisions based on trends. We were mandated to thoroughly understand the requirements of decision makers and empower them to access our online server and seamlessly review the status of any project and slice and dice the relevant data effortlessly. Creation of business intelligence driven configurable review dashboards and reports for fleet management was also a requirement. We were also entrusted to empower stakeholders with the ability to drill down project data, sub-project, tasks and resources data in addition to creating a unified platform for seamless exchange of ideas within the project teams to improve the quality, reliability and timeliness of deliverables.

What we did

We delivered interactive Tableau dashboards and reports through separate workbooks for project and employee reporting. We extracted, transformed and loaded data from ERP systems and MS Project into SQL Server using ETL processes. We enabled decision makers to access Tableau Server or Tableau Online to monitor project status and analyze data seamlessly. The dashboards support detailed drill-downs into project, sub-project, task and resource data, while Tableau Server provides a unified collaboration platform for teams to share comments, concerns, recommendations and ideas to continuously improve reporting effectiveness.
